I'm shortstacked in a tournament at pokertime. I have $600 in chips and the blinds are $50/$100. There are 188 players left so I have to do something soon. I got dealt Ad, Kh. I go all in. Everyone folds except for one player. He has Ac, 10d. I figure i'm in good shape. The flop comes:

7c, 6s, 4h

I think to myself. I'm in good shape here. The turn is: 9s. I'm still confident I got this one. I'm sure you can guess what the river card is.

That's right! 8c! He got a straight and I was out of the tournament. I couldn't believe he got 4 runner cards for a straight. I guess it just wasn't my night.

What should we analyze about this hand? You had 6xBB in a tournament and you got AK. In my opinion it was an obvious all in, and that´s all. If we are going to analyze a hand the result doesn´t matter. Bad beats are a normal part of the game, they don´t have to affect or bother you. Would you be posting this hand if a 10 had came in the flop instead of the runner straight? Or if the caller had AA instead of A10? It doesn´t matter the way you lose, or even it doesn´t matter if you lose, the only thing that matters is how you played the hand.
