If you check-raise this Flop and he 3bets, then it's always an 8 and you can just let it go. And if he has the Ace, he's probably going to call the raise and then check down from there.

But I don't agree with puzzlefish that this looks "more like some kind of Ax". If villain has an 8, this line makes perfect sense. So if I'm calling, it's just because I think there are enough other combinations in his range to make it worth it, not because I've somehow ruled out the 8.
