Is the fold too tight here? I've got 40BB I don't want to put it in a split, I don't think it's worth the risk I'm in a good position for the tournament

I don't think he's going all-in there with AJ or KQ, so you're probably not ahead; you're slightly behind against a pair, dominated by some premiums. I would also fold.

It is a very big jam, so you need almost 44% equity to just break even in chip EV, assuming that the two other guys fold. There is some argument, that he might be on a capped range, since KK+ would want to 3-bet small to get more action. But even so if its always AK or a pair, you can not make a profitable call. It would be nice to know something about this opponent like having HUD-stats showing a high PFR and high 3-bet percentage. Its apparently not a bounty tournament, so there is no extra reward for knocking him out. Without info I would tend to fold here, so I dont think, its to tight.

Maybe in the future I'll get some software, I've got quite a lot of hands, it was just a tournament now, I can only rely on the basic stats but I can't see them at this time
