Another variation of the theme "Pocket aces facing extreme aggression postflop" and once again mostly for fun. This time we are a little bit shallower at 40BB effective, and the opponent mixed it up by donk betting the flop but not overbet shoving until the turn. This game is a $5.5 hyperturbo MTT from pokerstars, and this opponent was an unknown, whom I had played less than 10 hands with. So once again call, fold or beat him into the pot? I guess, rasing the flop was also an option.

Flop: There are two connected broadways and there is a person to act behind you, and the SB just donked for 50% Pot. To me this looks like it should always be a raise. Your hand is strong but not nearly strong enough to slowplay. Just flatting here means you know so much less about your opponent's ranges on the Turn. If BN also calls and there's any card between 9 and Q on the Turn, your hand is barely good enough to bet again.

Turn: Honestly, I feel completely lost here. If I'm playing this hand and have to do something (and it's online), then I probably call because I want to see what happens, but no clue how to range my opponent in this spot. I just think you shouldn't have gotten here.

I guess if your opponent is really capable (but it's a 5$ hyperturbo tournament so they're probably not) they could surmise that the call on this flop caps your range and think they can barrel you off a single pair. That would be a reason to call. Or if people just panic and put the money in in this format, then I guess also call.

In these types of spot it's anyone's guess whether you are looking at something like JT or a set versus something like AJ that's just grossly misplaying the hand. I would think for this level of play you are probably facing two pair that is counting on you being married to your hand.

Thanks for the comments. I agree, that there is a case for raising the flop, but I also think, its fine to just call. I have position on the donk better, and stacks are shallow enough to get all the chips in on the turn and river, if I want to. Just calling also increase the chance to get BTN to come along with a hand like top pair, which I am a big favourite against, and which can pay me off on the later streets.

As played the situation is very similar to the hand from the $3.3 hyper. Stack to pot ratio around 4 on the flop, a very clean board with no made straight or flush possible, and the only logical two pair would be JT. Which its possible, that someone might call from SB, but if he is somewhat reasonable, it should only be JTs. Anyways this was the result:
