Preflop Normally its very standard to isolate a limper with QTs. However in this case you had 7 other people left to act behind you, and that makes the situation a bit problematic. The issue is, that because of the limper, you are putting out more chips, than if you just open raised. And all the players behind you can take advantage of that by 3-betting you. 5 of them can also call and take position on you, which is exactly, what happened in this case. So yes I do actually think, this is a fold, because you are in such early position. Another option is to limp behind, but that is only good, if the table is very passive, so that it often wont get isolated. Flop You flopped a 12 out combodraw, and you are only in real bad shape, if someone has a hand like KJ or K9 of diamonds. So right off the bat you are happy to stack off right now. Your C-bet is fine, and I dont think, sizing matter that much, so I am not going to analyse it. There is however an alternative line, which you could at least consider, and that is to check-jam. This gives BTN a chance to bluff, and it gives you some extra fold equity compared to a C-bet. And if BTN checks behind, you get a free card, which is also a fine outcome. Turn BTN has less than 600 chips left, and the pot is 872. 5c is not the ideal barrel card, but if you are ever going to have a bluff on the turn, then which hand is better to bluff than this one? I cant think of any, so for me this is an easy jam. And if he snaps you off with top pair, you still have around a 1:3 chance of getting there. I prefer jamming over check-calling, because maybe there is still a bit of fold equity. As played you have to call, when he bet this small. River You bricked and even though, you are getting a good price, you cant hero call with Q high. The guy has a hand here, otherwise he would have jammed the turn instead of giving you such a good price to continue. Summary I dont think, anything in this hand is all that bad, but I do think, slightly better decisions could have been made of the first 3 streets. Fold preflop, check-jam flop, jam turn. But at the end of the day its basically a hand, where you flopped a big draw and completely missed. Thats part of the game, and we will always lose chips in that situation.
