[QUOTE="300HPGOD, post: 6753059, member: 305911"] Pre: I think this hand can be used as a 3 bet of course but with the stacks the way they are and also that it was an UTG open I think calling can be fine but we have to be cautious. Depending on the player UTG, A10 is not doing so well so depends how loose they are. I would also factor in what the players behind me are like as this is not a hand off 30 BBs that I would want to call a 3 bet or 4 bet jam with. Flop: If you think there is fold equity here then betting is a good move. If there is little to no fold equity if you bet then checking is better. All comes down to what you think about the other players in the hand. With 3 opponents I would have to think checking is better since you wont get them all out of the hand and with a draw we would want many in the hand when and if we do hit. Again, comes down to what we think about villains. Turn: I would bet here as you did but I would bet a little more than you did. Nothing huge for sure but we might get a lot of calls here from K or Q of clubs, from straights, 8x or 7x, and maybe even a straight draw from a station player so I think we should go for a little more value here and so then we can get a little more on the river. As played, when we get raised we have to think about whether the hands that are below us but still good would call another raise if we were to make it. Would a straight (which we block one end) call if we jam as we did? They shouldnt be considering its a paired board and the flush is out there so your bet I believe only gets called by better. You have to discount your flush a bit, at least, on a paired board. So being in position here I would just call this raise and then let them lead river and then evaluate. You could also small raise here and then if you get jammed on go in the tank and decipher if this villain is a player would over value a straight that badly. So in the end, I dont think this as much of a cooler as it is you over valuing a flush. I get we started with 30 BBs and the effective stack vs villain is 20 and its hard to fold a flush in that spot much less the nut flush but on a paired board we have to be thinking villain will not call off a jam with less (unless you know something about them that would make you believe they would call it off with less).
