I was able to satty in to the Mystery Bounty ME this past weekend. I really like the freebuy satty which allows 3 add-ons (3 dollars each) of 100k chips at the end of late reg (150bb). This is the second time I've managed to get a seat, and of course I was very excited to play. This time though, it was not meant to be, as these 2 hands saw me loosing 2/3 of my starting stack, followed by internet connection issues, and finally with 15bb left, I lost with KK vs. AQ and was out. Anyway, here are the 2 hands that saw my starting stack vanish within the first hour, and I want to know if I could've gotten away from either one. Hand 2 especially was a bit of a punt, and I'm looking for some opinions on it. When the queen hits on the river, I have "that feeling", but still decide to call, telling myself "it's so hard to lay down a good hand". Villains river lead shows strength, but I convinced myself that he would have QT and KQ and maybe AJ a decent amount of the time. Would you lay this down? I decide to float with the backdoor nut flush draw. Then my spade shows up so I'm happy to chase to the river, hoping that if river bricks, villain checks and my ace will be good the times villain is barreling JJ and QQ or other broadway pair+draw-type hands. River comes a K and I'm too married to the hand at this point to let it go, deciding that as played, I could represent a K with a raise, which maybe should have been bigger. Villain shoves and most certainly has me beat so I lay it down. I'm assuming correct play here is to just fold the river, cut our losses and move on. Maybe find a hero call vs a very loose villain? I don't remember having any specific read in this situation on villains' style.
