Dear forum,

I wanted to get some feedback on this hand I played. I was getting short of stack in a MTSNG of 45 players. 16 players left, 7 get paid. And I was on rank 13 or 14 based on chips. I wasn't getting any premium hand for a while and started getting a little nervous.

So I was on the button and get dealt AQo and was happy. MP+1 bet 2,5bb and I decided to shove based on my stack. Was that clever? Should I have just called? Or folded?

pokerstars, $0.23 + $0.02 - Hold'em No Limit - 60/120 (15 ante) - 8 players

Very standard shove. You need to be shoving here with a fairly wide range of hands. Basically everything in the "magic range" described in CCs free 30-day course. ICM is not a factor here, since the average stacksize for cashing in a 45-man is around 9.000 chips, and you only have 1.611 chips. This time you ran into the absolute top of his range and failed to bink a suck-out. That does not mean, your shove was wrong. Just register for the next one and grind on.

Not to mention you were one of the shortest stacks at the table, so you need to take more risks to get some chips. With that stack, and after a raise, AQ is a standard shove in this situation.

Unfortunately this time it didn't hit yours.
