Hi guys,

I'm starting to get more comfortable with HEM now and am curious as to what filters some of you are using to find the fishes and sharks. Right now I'm using VPIP, PF raise, and Flop aggression factor to get a small snipit of who I'm facing. I'm using Red/Yellow/Green to indicate tough, avg, and fish. I understand if people don't want to share their secrets but if you do, I'd appreciate some different perspectives :)

Those really aren't filters, they are just stats. Check out my sig and you will find a article explaining the definitions of all of the stats in HEM and some info as to how to use some of them to your advantage.

Nice guide, tyvm :)

Edit: I'd like to solicit others for what stats they use in their HEM if you're willing to share

Dependant on what games you play as to what information you want to find out. I have quite a few setup. One for SNGs, one for Limit Holdem, One for NLHE, etc etc. Just to give you an idea.

My sng one has a lot of steal stats, like CO steal, BTN steal etc. Whereas my NLHE one has more stuff to do with postflop play, aggresion factor, c-bet % etc.

So once you get an idea of what the stats mean, then you can think about what you want and need in your HUD and tailor it to whatever game you want.

-Oh and BTW, the actual filters part of HEM is the next part you will want to research into.

Thanks Wizzim. I had no idea you could change your search criterea based on ring games or SNG. I guess I still have a lot more to learn

It's not really search criteria, it's what he has in his HUD. I'm assuming since you're new to HEM, that is the main reason that you're using it, to get the realtime stats as you're playing.

You can also go through and apply filters and run reports once you're comfortable enough with using HEM, which can take quite some time for some people. Search through here and the HEM forums and you can find some good articles on HUD creation and what stats might be best for what certain game you're trying to play. Any questions, just ask.

You can configure you HUD layouts to switch automatically based on cash/tourney (but not STT vs MTT AFAIK, those you'll have to change manually) as well as Limit vs NL/PL. You just create the layouts you want and in the Use For tab, configure them for the sites, games, and types of games you want. I *really* wish they'd add a separate type for STTs.

I do too Dave. IIRC, there is a poll somewhere in HEM's Suggestion Forum with that suggestion in there that I voted for. I actually just put one in so that you could filter out hands where people are sitting out in a tourney, because that really skews the stats(especially of CC games!!!)
