Wondering about PokerStars SnG

I played a SnG at pokerstars today, there were 7 Brazilian opponents and just 1 other. Why is there such unbalance?

Who knows? How anyone answer that one. brazil is a big country, maybe depending on the time of day. Numbers and stats my friend.

Brazil has a lot of inhabitants, a low standard of living and many see their chance to earn something in gambling. A lot of them play on Pokerstars, so it happens that in a Sit and Go tournament out of 45 players, 7 of them are at the final table.

I would not participate and unregister if I see such a game lobby.

While it's basically correct what others have said, it's still suspicious and I would not feel comfortable playing in this game.

Hi Folks,

Brazil is a large country but the population is still only a fraction of Europe. It was actually a 9 Man SnG with 7 Brazil and 2 Others, it is often a similar unbalance but usually not quite as pronounced. I am not complaining I don't mind who I play against, I was just curious about it.

Lots of european countries can not play on pokerstars.com, so its not like, the total population of Europe has the option to play there. And as others have said, brasil has a lower average income than at least western Europe, as this is one of the reasons, why you see so many "microstakes pros" from Brasil.
