more than bad beats? Many years ago I ground out freerolls and played micro MTT's on BOL, and it went fairly well. When it got to the point where I could join some slightly bigger tournaments, I hit 3rd for $500 something, and cashed out. After that one "big" win, I couldn't win to save my life. Lost the last of my BR on bad beats and tilt and gave up. Fast forward 5 years and I sit down to grind some freerolls and literally have not made it past the first hour of play, always losing on bad beats. I get AA will lose to AK sometimes, but every time I have a monster and THEY JAM ME, I am forced to call only to get sucked out... I have still yet to be able to make it through a single hour of freerolls there, always getting called light and sucked out... it's infuriating. So I started on ACR, same thing. Ground freerolls, played Micro's, for a couple months everything was "normal", then I won $200 something playing an MTT, and immediately after that my variance skyrocketed. from $350 to like $80 in 2 weeks, playing appropriate sized MTT's for my roll and small cash tables. What was described above, being way ahead only to be runner runnered over and over.... SO i spend the morning on CardsChat and see they say Intertops is the #1 place to play! SO i download and load up the first freeroll I can get into. Pocket 7's on the button, 2 limpers, i raise 4x, 2 callers, flop comes 9c7h5h checked to me on the button I bet pot sized and SB snap jams his stack. (ok, he limp called, check jammed... did he nail the straight? flush chase?) I call and I am ecstatic to see he has 75c for bottom two pair against my set. Runner runner flush. 4.65%? I GET THERE IS VARIANCE, I AM DEFINITELY GRASPING THE GAME, but i cannot seem to get away from these situations. I do not understand online poker because I grind it out, raise my BR, FINALLY go up in stakes, play the same exact style and get clobbered by this.
