I think a petition like this is good but more along the lines of asking the federal government to explicitly allow online poker in all states of the United States with the argument being that poker is a game of skill.  When it comes down to it, federal law trumps state law and so if a bill were to be introduced explicitly allowing online poker in the United States (i.e. a bill that states something like: "no state shall infringe upon the right of citizens to play online poker, being that online poker is a game of skill"), then every state would have no choice but to allow citizens to play.

I don't think this will ever happen though because as much as we poker players feel that online poker is a right, most people would probably just consider it a privilege.

But I think we should get a petition going that could possibly address Adelson's initiative in congress to get online poker banned at the federal level.  Would it help the situation?  I don't know.  But it couldn't hurt....
