Hi All,

now before you click on the link - have a guess at how much Phil Hellmuth won across 35 different events at wsop 2021.

See if you can get close to his final total bearing in mind that he never played in the final event - a hall of fame event paid for by the WSOP themselves...

https://uk.pokernews.com/news/2021/11/phil-hellmuth-poker-2021-wsop-41957.htm

Love him or not - he continues to defy logic with his wins and still remains one of the worlds elite poker players today.

I'd guesstimate about $1 million USD? He was doing very well with all the final tables he managed and none of the tournaments were the smaller buyins, if I remember right.

Edit: I won't spoil it by telling how close or not so close I was with my guess...lol

Serious buy ins nearly half a million worth of play was a healthy profit too a lot of final tables.

A very good guess by Shells - in total its was in the region of $1.38 million in profit...not too shabby at all!

The article details Helmuth bought in for $448, 379 he cashed for $1,248,860 for a net profit of $800, 481.

The devil is in the details.

Of course no one knows who had what pieces of his buy-ins.

I believe Negreanu was up just under $400,000 by the end of the series in comparison

That's impressive:eek:

It's easy to forget how good a tourney player he is.

There is no denying his skill at the tables. I honestly don't think he cares about the money anymore. I think it's all for glory, player of the year, hall of fame - leaving a legacy. It is clear that he absolutely LOVES the game.

Do I enjoy his tirades? Not particularly.

No worries pirateglenn!

A few years ago I can remember quite a lot of discussion regarding players actually being rated on their buy-ins compared to their cashes as this would produce an accurate reflection of their 'earnings'. As far as I know Daniel Negreanu is the only player that has been transparent in this manner.

Naturally it is quite easy to follow a series such as the WSOP and compute buy-ins against cashes, but outside of this things become hazy because the average player does not want to release such information. Further, most would not like to reveal their backers or friends who have 'pieces'.

That said, I always take rankings to some degree with a pinch of salt!

The reasoning he didn't play the HALL OF FAME FINAL WSOP EVENT

THE GREATEST GAME OF ALL TIME!!!!!
TEST OF TRUE CHAMPIONS!!!!
