This was a few weeks ago already, but I cant see, that anyone was shared it, so I am going to do it. 6-handed on the final table there was a situation, where the eventual winner did not see - or pretended to not see - UTG open to 2,25BB. He therefore attempted to raise to 3,0BB from SB, which is a normal sizing to use from that specific seat. A raise from 2,25 to 3,0 BB is not a legal raise, so the floor was called over, and SB was forced to make a minimum raise to 2,25 + 1,25 = 3,5BB. BB folded, but the betting was now reopened for UTG, who took advantage of the situation - or so he thought - and 4-bet jammed with QJs for 30BB into SBs AKs. AKs held, and UTG was busted in 6. place. Apparently part of the poker community have strong feelings about this hand and believe, that SB did a very unethical angle shot. I dont know either of these players, and I dont have any personal opinion about them. Nor do I know, if SB actually missed the action, or if he did this intentionally to induce a shove from UTG. So I will just give my general take, which is, that even if you think, someone was forced to 3-bet, because they missed the action, nobody force you to 4-bet jam QJs from UTG for 30BB. Actually if you really think, it was a mistake, and you have strong opinions about ethics, then you probably should not try to take advantage of that mistake but just call the extra 1,25BB and play a pot in position. So in my opinion, weather SB made an honest mistake or a dirty angle, UTG kind of did this to himself and had no reason to be mad at the player, who busted him. And while its obviously not great, if everyone do things on purpose, that require the floor to be called over, it is also a part of live poker to try to deceive your opponents. So if this is super unethical, should we then also frawn upon "reverse live tells", speech play, hollywooding and so on and so forth? In my opinion live players need to protect themselfes by not relying so much on "tells" but simply sticking to fundamentally sound poker. And once again nobody forced UTG to 4-bet ship a hand as weak as QJs for 30BB.
