I think PS is looking for a new favorite or PS's reputation is crumbling. When the ambassadors are gone it's bad news for the room and the field.

Next week he will be working at GG poker. 17 years! It's the end of an era. It's hard to think of Pokerstars without Moneymaker.

Best ambassador of all time! He is the reason why most of us are here.

very cool. such a regular guy but a guy that has done so much for poker.
he hasn't said but I suspect he is about to be next-level rich. he deserves it.
anyone know the story behind him pushing that guy's chips over?

Poker Stars must be making it bad to be there for all the players running away

My assumption re: the story behind Chris pushing Spraggy's chips over, Spraggy and Chris were known to have playful exchanges on and off the felt, and maybe Spraggy knocked him out? just a guess, though. :)

One of the originals and faces of PokerStars.
An inspiration for us regular poker people: you can do it too!
Moneymaker, online poker, the televised hole cards and movies like "Rounders" and also WPT/WSOP started the poker boom.
But its not over til its over!

Absolutely indifferent. For me, it does not change anything, and it does not affect my game or my results.

I don't know what's going on at Pokerstars but losing these amazing players is like a blow to them, but it also makes them reflect on the things they are doing wrong and try to hook those players again or look for new talents.

Moneymaker was one of the only true PokerStars ambassadors as he toured/travelled extensively and was willing to play a huge variety of tournaments with anyone and everybody. I am not sure anyone else came close to his interactions with the PokerStars public.

I'm finding out the news and the truth is, I didn't know that money was withdrawn from pokerstars, the truth was that he was a great example and a great satisfaction to see him play, even an emblematic character, pokerstars had to hurt him at all, this great loss , I believe that pokerstars should take more care of professional players as in the case of Moneymaker, who knows what the reasons and the reasons and the circumstances were, to leave pokerstars really, that unfortunate news, to start the year.

Very touching the video posted by PokerStars , it was a very emotional farewell .Personally , I do not believe it's a no to cooperate forone more year or some more years from pokerstars , mybe they offered him less money than before or he (Moneymaker) found a better offer . If that's the case , I guess it's wrong , together with pokerstars it was better , they all remembered the story of his qualification from a pok4erstars satellite , and all these years him as a pokerstars embassador . Anyway , now what , will he go to GG as Daniel , or to partypoker like the Staples Bros ??

Soon there won't be a single famous professional left on PokerStars. Now the face of the poker room are athletes, politicians, TV presenters.

Their streamers are still definitely professional poker players

And I don't think they're going away anytime soon...

But also, getting celebrities and non pros definitely helps to get new eyes on poker and bring new players to the game. So I think it's smart of Pokerstars to be making these kind of moves.

Chris Moneymaker just announced he has joined Americas Cardroom and will be one of their sponsored pros.

Congratulations Chris, welcome home! Now if we can only get our crooked Federal Government to return our freedom to play on all the other poker sites... imagine that? A country that claims it is all about "freedom", and they took our freedom away ten years ago. The ultimate in irony and hypocrisy, utterly disgusting.

The fact Chris Moneymaker stayed with Poker Stars for all these years always gave me hope of some kind of remedy. But as happy as I am for Chris today, it also makes it rather obvious to me that we Americans will never get our freedom back that our government stole from us. If it were imminent, Chris would never have left Stars.

So this is a great day for Chris, but an awful day for we Americans, the hypocritical bullcrap will continue ad nauseum just like it has for the last decade.

I had not heard this. It will be odds not seeing him as the Poker stars Pro but I am glad got picked up so quickly. While I have never had the chance to meet him I have heard nothing bit good from people who have. Best of luck Chris.
