And fear is the right word here.  It is wrong for us to fear our government and proper for our government to fear the populace.

Every anit-regulation Republican should, almost by definition, be wholeheartedly behind the removal of the regulations that caused us such grief, except it was them who enacted it!

Religious moralists should be behind it because they are the biggest gamblers of all.  What if they are wrong!  Then they have wasted all their believing lives in a false pursuit of something with an absolutely unclear outcome.  I'd call that a pure gamble.  And they put their souls at stake.

Libertarians would of course favor regulation removal.

Democrats are the iffy group here, since they seem perhaps best described as anti-Republican.  While they do tend to do things that work toward 'the greater good', it is almost impossible to determine which greater good will hold sway.

All this leads to the inevitable conclusion that it will be money that drives this whole thing.  Half the moralists will put money into overly moral control freakish Republicans (and a few Democrats).  The other half of hose moralists will do nothing.  There are not enough Libertarians.  The rest will be looking to make a buck somehow.

It is this sad sad state of political affairs that generates the fear that the gov will screw this up, and again.....you are not alone.:(:mad::(:mad:
