Amanda Botfield from CC News brings us a very interesting article describing three significant plays by three amazing professional players that have changed peoples perceptions of females within the game of poker.

I have long believed that whilst results and studies may prove me wrong, i think the female game isn't a different game now at all and view the challenge as equal, you only have to look across Cardschat itself to see the poker skill talents across both sexes so i dont differentiate.

I found this article quite insightful.

(copied from the article)
(To be fair to the guys that stereotype every woman they play against as Miss Straightforward, there is evidence that women bluff less frequently than men. So I see their point. I just wish that people were more willing to alter their perspective when faced with new data.)

This statement made me wonder (and I'm sure there are stats out there) does this mean that men bluff way too much? More curious as to the answer than anything because that won't make me change much on how I play. I do like the examples that Amanda provided to put some proof out there that women do know how to mix it up a bit on the live and virtual felt.

there are both maniacs and rocks among the female players, but I think for the majority the usual stereotypes are true...
