And that is one reason online poker gets less and less traffic.I think most players use payment systems like Skrill or Neteller or cryptocurrencies. So the online poker bandits continue their hard work![]()
Its largely a regulation issue. Just for fun I logged on to GG Poker, and the only deposit options available in sweden are Luxon Pay and something similar, which I dont remember. And almost certainly this is, because GG Poker dont have a swedish license. On the licensed sites like pokerstars people living in Sweden can deposit with their credit card and withdraw via direct bank transfer. And that is one reason online poker gets less and less traffic.
People who play just for fun don't want some extra steps just to deposit and/or withdraw.
Oh cmon... Get off it.Banks and Credit Cards companies like Visa and Mastercard are already denied GGPoker accounts.

Yeah total rocket science those e-wallets and crypto. Especially on GG this could be one of the reasons for the declining traffic 😅And that is one reason online poker gets less and less traffic.

Yes, but more and more countries are getting some sort of regulation. Its largely a regulation issue. My bank does. Or at least it did a year ago, when I last withdrew money from ACR. If this has changed, then I guess, I have a challenge. Could try to transfer to my danish bank though, since I am a cross border worker. My bank won't even accept money from LuxonPay, so I'm not really interested in jumping through hoops to play.
Exactly. $5.5 MTTs are also playing kind of tight, and in general the whole environment is just drying up more and more.PokerStars takes seconds to deposit and rarely more than a day to withdraw. But as you know, since we don't get anything extra like bonuses or rakeback, we aren't playing on an even playing field, and that doesn't motivate me to grind. Especially not now when 10NLH is tighter than 100NLH was 15 years ago.
As an update I just made a withdrawal from ACR Poker to my swedish bank account using Luxon Pay. And apart from their rather high fees it worked without problems. I requested the withdrawal monday, and the money is in my account now two days later. It is possible, you might have attempted to transfer in USD to an account in SEK? The procedure is to first do a currency exchange on LuxonPay (and pay a fee), and only then request a wire transfer (and pay another fee).My bank won't even accept money from LuxonPay, so I'm not really interested in jumping through hoops to play.
It depends on the bank. My bank's customer service said it wasn't even allowed. I know some other banks are ok with it. However, I don't feel the need to open an additional bank account to play on a single site. It's GG Poker that should add to its withdrawal methods if it wants customers from Sweden. I know a lot of players who would rather play on PokerStars, Svenska Spel, or unibet, even if they don't get any rakeback, bonuses, or other free things, just because transactions are so easy.As an update I just made a withdrawal from ACR Poker to my swedish bank account using Luxon Pay. You would also be able to use Luxon Pay to play on ACR Poker and presumably a lot of other unregulated sites. Byt yeah. If it require opening another bank account just for that, and you are not a professional player, then I would also just stick to the regulated sites. However, I don't feel the need to open an additional bank account to play on a single site.
They should obtain a swedish license. Its definitely very substandard, that the worlds largest poker site still operate as a "grey market" site in regulated markets. It's GG Poker that should add to its withdrawal methods if it wants customers from Sweden.
