While playing Omaha on BetOnline the tables were set up for Strattle.
This is confusing for me and need some help figuring out is this a play that I should be doing or is it a leak to be avoided?

To me it looks like just betting "sight unseen" before you even have your cards. I would never do it, but have no problem with others doing it.

I think you want to consider how much you are folding preflop in the game in question.
The tighter you are preflop the less you should want to straddle.

The other thing you want to consider is how loose the table is preflop.
The looser the table is the more you should want to straddle.

The better your opponents are the less you should want to straddle.

So the ideal time to straddle is when you have a large skill advantage over a bunch of loose fish.

If you are bad at it, doing a straddle will just compound the skill disadvantage.
