After hours of playing poker online, I find myself sleeping sitting up!! Has that ever changed the outcome to an online tournament you have played?

I also came to this conclusion, there's no way to fight sleep!!

It happens to me very often, especially in tournaments at 3:50 am.

It happened, like was with real deep chips and tournament leader. Once wake up next day, it was over and won over a hundred just by idling.

I've already slept during a tournament, but it were always a freeroll or a micro buy in tournament. When it's an important tournament, I usually prepare myself to be awake and focused.

Luckily it never happened to me, but I recall several tournaments, where I played several hours through the night and I immediately fell asleep after I was eliminated.

You can set a 20 minute alarm and take a power nap if the tournament is important enough and the blinds are not too high yet.

If I am deep in a tourney , yes I am excited and won't fall asleep . But if so am tired and it's a freeroll or a very small buy in , I might fall asleep and not worry much , ai do not like coffee to tell the truth

Yes, I've slept in a tournament where I was the chip leader in the tournament I ended up at the final table in ninth absent and sleeping, when I bowed it was a total disappointment

Yeah that has happened but I think only once. It was recently during the SCOOP 2022 on pokerstars. I had qualified for day 2 of the SCOOP 01 low, which was a 2,2$ multiflight event. Day 2 began 8.10 pm in my timezone, and I had opened up the client, so that I has ready. But I had slept really poorly the night before, so before the tournament even began, I had fallen asleep, and when I woke up around 10pm I had of course blinded away and busted. But at least I managed to outlast half the field and get some small payjumps while sleeping :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

It has happened to me to be tired and in the same way to start playing, that situation led me to fall asleep in the middle of the tournament and it was just a waste of money and time.

Medications, drugs, nicotine, alcohol do not contribute to quality sleep. Sleeping pills can be used as a last resort and then very rarely. Poker players are a firm believer in the long term, and there is no room for chemical forgetting in it. It is very important for a poker player to be in the best mood, and if you chronically lack sleep, you will be like a zombie and will not show the best game.

I didn't have to fall asleep, but I try not to play tournaments that start late, late at night I only played cash, so that when I really want to sleep, I could close the game client and leave, I had tickets to tournaments that start at 1 am our time I don't play them

This has not happened to me, it is advisable to rest enough before playing so as not to have that feeling of fatigue during the session

I hate to admit but I've done this before too 😴 Where for about the first ¾ of the game I've been knocking players out & built up a nice stack, just to fall asleep before it's over lol. I've usually been up for quite a while before joining some of the poker games tho 🥱 I hate needing to go to sleep! lolFB IMG 16137244149353656

I haven't had very long tournaments yet. Maximum 4 hours. Jumped and squatted during breaks, but noticed that decisions are more difficult and often wrong.

Before, I was very unconscious when deciding what time I was going to play, I simply said ok this tournament, I like it, I will play it, it doesn't matter if it is at 1am, and depending on how tired I was, I could or could not resist playing at that time, sometimes exhaustion won me and I fell asleep, I remember 3 occasions, the 1st was in a free pokerstars tournament of the poker school, I registered and had enough chips, a break came and I fell asleep, when I woke up I still had chips and I managed to reach the final table and then win the tournament, the other 2 were playing omaha h/l tournaments at pokerstars, one was a sat of 0.55 and the other a tournament of 5.50 I played them on different days, but it was the same , I fell asleep in the middle of the tournament and woke up about 4 hours later obviously without having won anything, then that was a lesson to me, I must be more aware of whether I am going to play a tournament regardless of the time, I must evaluate if I am physically and mentally prepared to play a tournament, especially if it is from buy-in

Phil Hellmuth said that he'd slept sometimes during a wsop event, waiting for the best hands...He won:)
Ok, the above was not at a online match, but I've already fell asleep while playing, and, if not a important one or, did not paid much for the entry, I shove and go into bed.
