On GG poker you get a limited amount of play chips per day, unlike e.g. pokerstars where you can buy them. On pokerstars plenty of players will just see any flop for any bet below all-in, On GG you only have 2 table values, that's it. And in the lower one people practice a bit and then play the higher one. I started off with about 150k chips after a couple of days collecting free chips without playing. In about a month i had about 13 million chips and had lost interest a bit playing for achievement only. And with play chips people will play pretty reckless indeed. But it's a good test, if you're not able to get your chip count up even against bad players and bingo players, it might not be a good idea to play for real money
Play money can be useful when you are a totally beginner, but unfortunately the players there are also beginners and playing every card with all-in. I suggest to go to freerolls. There are also a lot of maniacs, but you can get a real picture about the tournaments and you can learn something, not just 'all-in with every hand' tactics.
I don’t like playing with play money because it doesn’t feel as exciting. I prefer playing with real money since it brings responsibility and a more authentic experience.
People in play money are crazy, non risk-bad playing, I think you can’t consider play money as training.
If you don’t have real money, you can practice on free rolls (people use to play a lil better)
I usually prefer real money games because the action feels more serious and players take it more carefully. But I also play some play money games just for fun and to practice new strategies without risk.
