[QUOTE="Ujimiflip, post: 7140278, member: 1018320"] I posted about luck and skill in poker, some unfortunately ignorant people argued against the point I was trying to make, with stupid childish remarks. so to make it simple for those who need it I thought a analogy would help. Let's say driving a car from point A to B is the same as a tournament game from start to 1st place. The luck needed in the game is the fuel. And the skill of the game is the steering, braking, indicating ..etc. To get from A to B you will need 1 tank of fuel exactly. Skill of driving the car is required, the more driving skill the better. But let's say you only have half of a tank, sadly no matter how skilled at driving the car you are,no amount of steering, pressing the brake or indicating is going to get you to B once you've run out of essential fuel. A full tank to go all the way is 100% essential, AS LONG AS YOU HAVE A FULL TANK, even if your driving is a bit dodgy you'll more than likely make it, unless you're poor driving skills end up making you crash on the way. Poker is a game that needs good luck to win. Skill (as important as it is) comes 2nd...as so many lucky begginers have won but no skilled downswingers have ever won. So it's more a game of chance than skill. The chance that hopefully you're lucky this game🤞...nobody ever says "good skill" it's always the important bit they wish you "good luck!" That means it's gambling just like lotto or bingo, because they too rely on 100% luck to win. Just because you have the option to bet, call, raise or fold doesn't mean it trumps luck/running good. If you disagree with the above I highly suspect you have a gambling addiction and have lost lots of money (like 85%+ of poker players) and hate to think of yourself as a problem gambler with an out of balance ego off loading/trolling your deep sadness on innocent people.
