I'm planing to start streaming póker online starting from micro Stakes leveling up to high stakes tourneys.

What are your thoughts on poker streams?

What recommendations can you give me?

Have you ever stream something?

Do you follow any poker streams?

Planing or planning? Twitch is a big streaming platform. I haven't looked in on it for months.

If you want to stream on Twitch or another platform, do it. I can say that you need to hook your future viewers with something and motivate them to come to your broadcasts. Be outgoing and charismatic and also focused on the game of poker to give useful tips to your viewers. Maybe come up with some contests or interact with your viewers, do some small raffles on your streams and people will come and watch you.

Sure, let's do it, why not. I think the Cardchat community will see how you're doing. And for advice, as far as I can tell, there are two types of success. You have to be a pro and play well, to learn from you, or you have to be amazing speaker and be a showman.

Good luck with the journey mate, personally I didn’t like doing it as you will be showing off your moves which in turn can be exploited but I guess it’s basically the same as what a top pro goes through playing live as we can all see what they do. One bit of sound advice I can offer is to make sure you put enough of a delay on your stream so your opponents who are watching cannot see your holdings.

I don’t watch poker streaming but one thing I’ll say about content creation overall is that the most important thing is consistency. Being consistent is the most important and most difficult thing to do. It’s actually ok to sacrifice quality in order to make sure you’re consistent

I watch poker stream to have fun, not really to learn about poker. For this reason I only watch streamers that are likeable and/or funny. Nowadays I only watch streamings from Vivi Saliba (888poker) and gripsed (knew him through the ACR freerolls).

Good luck with it! I've streamed on and off for a couple of years and would recommend when you're starting out:

  • Check your audio and video before starting -the worst thing is firing and having music louder than you are, or your camera looking bad.
  • Try and find streamers w a 10-20 viewer count that finish around the time you're starting and spend time in their channels. Eventually if you're recognized and overlapping with their end you'll get a raid, which goes a long way when you're trying to reach affiliate. Typically bigger streamer will raid each other, but the smaller streamers tend to target their friends/regular viewers.
  • Always respond to any comments in your chat, ask questions of any new visitors, make sure you engage people early and often.
  • post about exactly when and what you're streaming in as many places as you can. The more places you can get the word out the better.
  • If you have a few non-poker friends/family that can just pull up your stream (not necessarily to watch, just to up your viewer count) that's a great way to keep your numbers above 0. Typically people will stop in a stream w 4 or more viewers, but you get less random traffic if you're at the bottom of the browse page with 0 viewers.
Share your Twitch sn and post up a thread here when you go live, I'll try and check you out!

Streaming is a lot of fun! For me, I really enjoy it as it brings a fresh new element to your game. Explaining your thoughts out loud to others can often really help improve your game. I also really enjoy the community aspect of it.

If you're just starting out, don't worry about viewers, just get used to talking on stream and playing poker.

I've been streaming for 2 years on Twitch, and have enjoyed it a lot!

I follow a lot of poker streams, always checking out the lobby to see if there's anyone new.

Have fun!
