I met Couple of players at Vietnam , they were telling that they are Pro Player and earning money with Poker. But I can't believe that this people earning good. Maybe once they won really good money.
You can be pro player if you will have your team, other way you can't earn money from poker

Actually living in Vietnam and earning from poker is potentially easier comparing to Europe or North America, because of relatively low cost of living. Not saying they are earning good, but for sure it is possible to survive.

Perhaps 10% are winning players. But winning enough to cover costs of living is another issue - for sure there are much less people able to do it.

Poker is not a team game. You will make money if you are patient and disciplined enough. Patience and discipline will allow you to acquire the skills and experience that are necessary for the game to bring you money.

A lot of people say they’re “pro players,” but the true reality of professional poker is much harsher than most imagine. Winning one big tournament doesn’t make someone a consistent winner. The silent graveyard of those who tried and failed in poker is huge — and most of them don’t post their losses on social media. It’s a lonely road without a bankroll plan, discipline, emotional control, and yes — often a support team.

I believe that to survive in poker long term, especially as a job, you need more than talent. You need structure, backup plans, and a serious approach to risk. Otherwise, it becomes a slow leak disguised as a dream.

Nahh, I think you are mixing it up with BJ, where card counting with a team is extremely profitable. Team play in poker is frowned upon (not like it is not frowned upon in BJ by the casinos, but in BJ at least you have no casino-friendly options to get edge from the game and the game dynamics there are quite different than in poker, as you are fighting against the house in an already unfair game, not against other players).

@Mario7 brought up a good point, which is also an important factor, as in countries like the US and germany, where the cost of living is quite high, you will have to grind higher stakes in order to earn enough to survive, while in countries where it is much lower being good at the low stakes with much less sophisticated players can pretty much be enough.

The whole thing is probably a matter of definition.

I think anyone who is able to make a living from poker (over a longer period of time) can call him or herself a pro.

Winning means overcoming your losses, which means you are in the rivht direction, but maybe you got too lucky for now. It all comes down to consistency and long term approaches as strategies. Simulations and fun games with a closed group of people can boost your confidence too.
