Odd Player Behavior...Joining and Leaving Tables

Hello! So, I've been playing online poker recently for the past two months. Been playing on and off over the past 15-20 years or so, both live and online.

At my most recent site, I've noticed some odd behavior. A lot of players will sit down in an empty seat, then immediately leave. Then 5 seconds later, that same person does it again. Maybe five minutes later, again. On this particular site, you can't see player names until you are dealt a hand, so I know they aren't looking for particular opponents.

Also, some players will buy into the table, see 2-4 hands, then leave. A few minutes later, same thing. Some will sit down showing a zero balance and then leave after 10 seconds...they never add money.

Bots perhaps? People who are multi-tabling and decide they are at their limit for tables? Connection issues? Mobile players? Everything described above is pretty common...I see these behaviors in almost all the sessions I've played. Sometimes I even recognize the screen names. Thoughts?

Could also be how the site handles seating players on the waiting lists. One site I play at won’t let you wait for “any” table. So you have to manually join multiple waiting lists. When the seats do start opening up you get seated even if you’re already seated at other tables and don’t want to play any more new tables. They also make it difficult to leave a waiting list till you’re actually seated at each table.

Ah, didn't consider this. My site also lets you join waiting lists that are not tied to a particular table. So maybe these players get seated at multiple tables at once and don't want to multi-table (or have joined too many tables). Thanks for the insight!
