Hi all,

I use global poker and work on a chromebook so i don't use an HUD. I plan to play one table only and pay close attention to my opponents and take written notes on their betting patterns. I'm looking for suggestions as to what stats i should write down. If you had to take notes instead of using an Hud what would you look out for?

Hello, personally I take notes, I am not using any type of program. In addition to taking notes, I mark them with colors depending on the level of aggressiveness of the player or if it is recreational. I also only play 2 sites and GG poker has a personal Hud.

Hello, I also mark with colors, somewhere where you can write a note, I can write something. I think colors are the norm from a good player to a bad one

I often play on mobile where I also don't have a HUD. I usually take notes like:
  • How often do they defend BB?
  • Do they seem to play tight/loose?
  • Do they c-bet frequently?
  • Do they fold to c-bets frequently? Or check-raise frequently?
  • 3-bet/fold to 3-bet
  • If they jam and get called, what did they jam with?
  • Do they make bad calls?
I also use colour coding for the type of player.

If someone is bluffy or always calling, I also note those things.

Hope that helps

When it comes to notes, I think they should be simplified as much as possible. I created a formula so that I can easily understand the annotation. Position/staks/action/bet/ and when the hand reaches the end of the opening interval.

On some sites that allow huds it is still very important to acquire more information about the players, huds are beneficial to the point that you have a large sample at hand.
but regarding player ratings always and it's important with huds too. I use colored notes to tag players.
Edit:
x color (tight player)
x color (regular)
x color (loss)
x color (recreational) etc...
It helps a lot to keep an eye out and know what style of opponent you've played with or are currently playing with.
other notes that I adore about them are the plays they make at the tables I played against or that I analyzed them at the table.
ex:
this player isolates allin short stack with shove 30bb with A9-.
This will help a lot in your decision making!!! :) glglglgl.

If you use notes and marks on players correctly and correctly, it can sometimes be even better than the HUD

I don't know. I don't use hud either but I usually mark a player when I see he's a difficult opponent. I write shark

I have not attempted notes or a hud ever . The notes I can see being useful and I note the players aggressiveness and the their fold ratio

I've been using hud for a long time, and I also take notes on specific moves, and I already have a rich history of information from the vast majority of members here at Cardschat and I only use four colors.

Red - Yellow - Green - Blue
