Poker hasn't changed much, if you know how to play and learn to have a stable bankroll everything will be fine.

Playing good hands is just 1/3 of a winning strategy. Position and aggression is just as important. You can’t just rely on good hands.

Play good hands in position and, in general, using the correct bet sizing

I think poker should be played more aggressively these days. In the past, playing hands like 56s or 23s was impossible; now, it's very common to do so.

What has changed is that players do not over fold as much today You will see more showdowns so 1 pair hands at showdown win fewer pots then when you got more folds years ago

Welcome back to the poker tables and hopefully you'll have a great time and win money too 🙏💸

The game didn't change and we still have the usual suspects at the tables(whales, fishes, maniacs, good/ bad regs, good/ bad pros...); but quite a few other things changed- any tight style of play in general is tough to give you profit, as even though people are way looser nowadays, they won't give action to someone with under 10% VPIP* many sites have built-in HUDs and/or most players that take the game seriously use a 3rd party HUD... loose aggressive style(LAG) seems the best choice ATM for both CGs/ MTTs but of course you'll have to adjust depending on your opponents/ situations... bankroll management is way more important, you also need to study more and especially study poker ranges- how to use them correctly etc...

GLGL all at the tables and have a great weekend :)

Poker today is exactly the same as it was 15 years ago. You always had to be able to adapt to the general gaming atmosphere at the poker table and to each player in particular. First, you need to understand what you managed to learn in 6 months, and what of all this you understood and learned to apply during the game. And have you played poker over these 15 years, have you gained experience and distance, or was the last time you played it 15 years ago. I started studying poker 16 years ago, and today I often continue to learn something new for myself about this game. Everything I have studied over 16 years works today. Before, when I played according to a book, and did not deviate a step from what was written there, it also seemed to me that everything written there did not work. But when I began to understand this game and feel it, the results from the game immediately became much better. And today there are points that I need to work on, it's just not time to do it yet.

...poker today is more complex and many things in the game have changed in relation to range and game strategies...in the past, playing hands because of their value was more important than reading the opponent's game...today it is completely soooo much more...good return!!!

Just like 15 years ago, you need to be analytical. Understanding the game was important and it still is. Poker has become an even more complex game because players take more risks today. So waiting for premium hands is not such a good strategy if it is not accompanied by other skills such as knowing how to play in position and interpret the table you are playing at. If you intend to return to playing, keep this in mind. You must be an analyst and your table partners at all times. And even then, luck may choose not to smile on you. Accept this and play carefully...

Exploit when you can, GTO when you cant. I really do not see very much GTO play, I think you can focus most of your time on attacking what other players do too much or not enough of. You can also try to focus on playing hands in position and betting them for value.

It doesn't work as well as in theory, out of every 5 top range hands, you connect 1 hand, the other 4 you discard because they didn't connect on the flop, that is if you don't hit top pair and the villain has a set or 2 pair.

That's how it has been consistently.

I feel micro's play about the same...maybe software has changed on you? new rng? maybe you are making mistakes when you dont realize it? I write notes on players if i take time off i dont expect to win in first month till i build up some notes to use against the same group of players that is what ive always done...what can say i dont win as easily or as much as in the past....yet on certain sites that I consider have the better rngs i have won.

Certain instances dictate you must continue even when missing the flop, with overcards. Maybe you are overfolding?

Not at all. No exaggeration, you can probably imagine that the variance is exactly like that, and quite high at that point.

Well, it's like that with me all the time.

I don't think your knowledge is wrong, playing good hands has always been profitable, it's just a matter of being patient and continuing to apply the good knowledge you've acquired over all these years, success and may the world of poker always smile upon you.
