So I noticed some odd tanking the timer behavior nearing the bubble in tournaments. I get that it's to slow things down so other players on other tables get eliminated so as to hopefully finish in some money, but what I don't understand is why everyone tanks almost fully when it gets down to one table playing at a time for the bubble boy. It's pointless??! Now it is in freerolls I see it but still very odd behavior 🤔 think they have all been watching high stakes tough decisions too much.

If it truly is just a one table (so basically you are in the final table already) tanking makes very little sense. I can offer one scenario though:

Let's say almost all players are pretty evenly stacked with (maybe  15-20 BBs) but there is a one clear bubble boy candidate with only 5 BBs. Naturally it is in his interest to go all in pretty much every hand and try to win the blinds.

The clock keeps ticking and blinds keep growing. Everybody tanking makes it more likely that bubble boy will blind out.

But I wouldn't recommend this kind of playing.

Noticed the same problem, some players just like to stall even if it is one table or hand-for-hand. Though, probably quite often it is just someone who has a poor internet connection or is just really invested into the 3-seconds rule.

As already mentioned, it makes time pass and gets the blinds to grow.

People who do this are just very low minded and probably don't understand that there is only one table left.

Basically never good players and they are looking for chances elsewhere so they still able to compete.

This inventive scoring system will enable me to evaluate whether I could resume playing and raise on my past performance. wave road

If you know, you are a really bad player, then you best chance is to stall the action, so that as few hands as possible get dealt. In that way you get less chances to make mistakes, and when blinds go up, so does the significance of luck vs. skill. So I guess, they are just players, who are bad and know it :)

I dont know if its tanking or connection issues on Replay. Its weird to tank when most of the tourneys pay 5, but it weird to open limp and thats an epidemic in the CC games.
