I play most of my poker online at GGPoker. I have noticed that so long as I am playing well, their Bad Beat tourney "GGCare" does a great job at flattening out the vairience. Originally I thought it was gimmicky, but it has really worked out for me over a decently long time frame.

What do you guys think about bad beat jackpots?

GGPoker is known for offering a variety of promotions and rewards programs for its players, and "GGCare" is one of them.

The "GGCare" Bad Beat Tournament is part of their loyalty program, designed to reward players who have hit a losing streak. It offers the chance to win free entries to tournaments with guaranteed prizes. This is an effective way to help players smooth out losses and keep their interest in online poker.

I don’t play there, but I was wondering what it is, I’ll go read it. This is not the first time I've heard about the Bad Beat tourney "GGCare"

It's basicly an opt-in program. If you play a big pot and get a bad beat or you win a huge pot you are awarded 'GGCare or GGCheers' chips for in an automatic all-in every hand tournament where you can win cash prizes for the top 25%. Plays everyday, multiple GGCare/GGCheers stacks up for the daily tournament.

But higher stakes get bigger stacks so in the micro's winning something is a rarity.

The simple version is that every time you take a bad beat you get a lotto ticket with decent odds to win something.

The slightly more complicated version is that every time you take a bad beat on an all-in, you get a certain amount of buy-in to an auto all-in tourney (you don't actually play the tourney, it just plays itself with everyone going all-in every hand) . I don't know the exact math on how big a buy-in you get, but it looks like the worse the bad beat (the stronger your hand that gets beat), and the larger the pot, the bigger the buy-in. I play micro stakes, so I'll get sucked out on a hand and loose maybe $2 to get entered. Only twice have I gone more than 10 of these tourneys without winning and in the last 10, I won something in 4. MY winnings have ranged from $17 to $42. Prize pool is $100k, so if someone were lucky enough to finish top 10 it's a least some hundreds of dollars, maybe $1000+... so for sure it works out really well for micro-stakes if you play decently well.
