When you are playing live you must always pay attention to what’s going on. Two cases yesterday where players didn’t do that here at the wsop.
The first case, player UTG goes all in and has his stack out in front of him. Folds around to the small blind and he flicks in two black chips. The blinds were 600-1200-1200. He had a yellow 1000 chip out there already and the two black ones were 100 chips. The big blind folds. The all in guys asked if that’s a call. I said yeah that’s a call. The small blind who didn’t know there was an all in player argues that he didn’t see it and it shouldn’t be a call. So the floor comes over and ruled that because the small blind wasn’t closing the action, like if he was the big blind, it’s not a call. I think that was a bad ruling but it is what it is. He got to fold but lost his 1200.
The second case was this. Player directly to my left had to buy up all the black 100 chips from all the players because of a color up break at the end of the round. So we came back from the break and he now has a green 25k chip. He is the only one at the table with a 25k chip. First hand back from break he goes all in. Dealer is newer and very quiet. She announced 43k and slid the all in puck to this player. Folds around to the other side of the table and the big blind calls. He puts out 17k. They run the hand and the big blind looses. Dealer and everyone at the table says it’s 43k. He gets pissed because he said he didn’t see the green chip and didn’t even know there was a green chip on the table. So he calls the floor which is dumb there’s no way he’s getting chips back on this one. Floor said you have to pay attention, the green chip is obviously different color than the red and yellow ones. Lol.
