Hi,

I’m looking for someone who knows the game well with results to show for that would like to mentor me.

As most of you are probably gamblers, I would offer pay in tournament winnings for the next 2 years where you’ll get a 20% cut. This way you’ll be paid if you’re a good mentor, and you’ll be investing long term for potentially higher pay, sounds fair?

Well, I'm not a mentor. But you should at least reveal what is your starting level?
How long have you played, and at what stakes? Are you looking for mentoring in cash games, tournaments, or in what?

I’m not sure what you mean by starting level? I’ve been playing some real poker for some years now only, but not that often. So I’m a beginner I would say. I have just been playing low stakes considering my experience level. I’m thinking tournaments, hence why I wrote 20% cut in tournament winnings.

Meaning how well versed you are in the game, and also your buy-in level. But you already mentioned that you play low stakes.

Yup, I missed that somehow. Tournaments it is then.

I can't really say if we have willing mentors on this site but stick around. Maybe someone will reach out to you.

In which area of poker do you think you are strongest?
Do you understand mathematics well?
Or do you think you are better at mentality and discipline?

Oh I was hoping you were a candidate for mentoring now lol. Thank you anyways, I’m going through the 30 days course now first. But we all know success breeds success so it would be cool to have someone joining this win-win situation, but I totally understand if that’s hard to find

First one is a though one, but it’s probably reading other peoples hands (I like to believe so at least haha).

I got a bachelor of economics so I’m not bad at maths I would say. That being said I’m probably better and mentality and discipline.

Perfect, maybe you need to increase your volume to better understand how it actually works, repetition brings a lot of learning when you have good attention and perception.
Are you going to play poker full time?

Dude, I can help you, but I don't want your money. We can contact you here via PV and we can talk about poker, so I can better understand where you are in poker, so I can help you better.

If you get a hit and think I deserve something, or if you see some benefit and make a profit, you decide what you think is fair. I don't want anything.

The great thing is, you've joined CardsChat, which has loads of free learning resources, as well as a very active and robust community always ready and willing to discuss all things poker! I would go that route first. :)

True, Tammy! There is a lot of content, if you put the fragments together and incorporate them into your game, it is already a great start. Poker has a very peculiar characteristic, which is that only you can know your game and improve it, you can learn the most generic things here.
I couldn't want to charge, because they already did that for me here, and they even provided me with the bankroll.:)

There is something to be said too about discussing scenarios, and having someone evaluate your play after the fact. Keeping note of key hand numbers and sharing them with someone to look at and critique can offer new insights.

You should open the options for private messages it would give you more chance with your search ^^ I dont have the pretention to be high level enough to be a mentor and ask for 20% but im willing to help for free and discuss hands together ^^

I can totally help you to make the first step of the bankroll building stage since i went tru it in the last year and got what i consider a spot on strategy with 0 risk ^^.

I don’t know about doing it full time, if it turns out really profitable, sure why not, but first of all I just wanna become good at it as a hobby

That would be great, really! How do I open the option for pm then? The option to allow members to start conversations with me is already checked, can’t find any other relevant option

I completely agree. The cash game hand analysis and tournament hand analysis forums are great for getting feedback from other players on specific hands. And if OP wants to take it to the next level, maybe he should look for a study group of like-minded players rather than a mentor or coach. Poker coaching is typically sold at an hourly price or as part of a stable arrangement, which also include staking. And a stable will definitely want some kind of track record, before they take in a new player, so its way to early for OP to even think about this.

Also, and this is just my personal opinion, one of the main advantages of poker is, that it can be played without being dependent on others. So personally I would rather offer free feedback in the hand analysis forums that enter into some kind of obligation, where I HAVE to mentor or coach someone, and where I might or might not get paid part of this persons winnings at some point in the future. If they even manage to win anything at all.

Thats my result in the last 1 year or so on partypoker ( hopefully you have this room availaible definitly the most generous one ^^)

Can you acces partypoker,888,ggpoker and pokerstars?

I would also definitly register there https://www.cardschat.com/forum/car...up-here-cardschat-community-freerolls-537305/ and take advantage of the community freeroll to learn a lot and build a bankroll.

I applaud you looking for mentoring and looking for help. You will get plenty of it on CardsChat. I think the hardest part of getting someone to mentor you is just time people have and the world wide player time zone. I think having someone you could talk to to discuss things would he beneficial. Lets say I were to help you, well there is at least a 6 hour time difference would not be helpful. Have you thought of betting onto a training site instead? Its not the same but by investing in that and yourself maybe a better option. I would be happy to share where I go thought if you want. Your offer is nice and someone I am sure would accept it but as a beginning player you may not get as good of a player as you would hope for the % of the winning your offering as whoever helps you will be using a lot of time to help you. .

You might want to sharkscope any prospective mentors to make sure you are getting sound advice, and not just someone trying to "freeroll" your future winnings.
To be honnest i think giving a % rigth away is not gonna do you any good XD You need to build slowly a bankroll and reinvest those small winning climbing up and eating up 20% of micro stake winning will make your winning adding in cents :D

After they reach 15 posts the conversation option becomes available. :)

The problem with sharkscope is they don't always capture all events and some players block there results.

Very good. I can be your coach, you have the opportunity to be a first player I would coach. I never coached anyone, maybe through coaching I will also improve in my game because no one is a master of this game. Generally I am better at mixed games like PLO8, where the variance is lower than NLHE.
