Lately, I’ve been thinking about how much of my winrate comes from simply playing in position. In my own hands, I see such a huge difference when I’m the aggressor on the button compared to defending the blinds. But I’ve also noticed that some regs in my games still over-defend out of position and make big hero calls. My question is: do you think position is still the #1 edge in today’s games, or has solver-inspired play made it less important compared to before?

Position is so important in no limit hold em, without question. The only time it’s not is if you are on a short stack in a tournament, because then you really are looking for a shove spot and this could come at any position.
Having position give you so many advantages, you get to decide if you want to see cards for free, you get to decide how much to make the pot, you get to see your opponent act ahead of you, it’s just such a crazy advantage that you must take advantage of every chance you get. Out of position is just so tricky and hard to make money from even with a big hand.

What is villains shoving range with 3,7 BB from BTN when it has folded around to him.
Note that this in torunament and already in the money and what is our calling range from the BB?
