hands like 7♠8♠ or 9♥10♥ are some of the most attractive in No-Limit Hold’em. They look pretty, they’re fun to play, and when they hit straights or flushes, they can win huge pots. That’s why many beginners fall in love with them.

On the other hand, when played correctly, suited connectors can be extremely profitable:
- They disguise your hand well — opponents don’t expect straights from 7♠8♠ on an A-9-6 board.
- They give you strong drawing potential — combo draws can even make you a favorite against top pair.
- They’re great for semi-bluffing, adding fold equity plus outs if you get called.
The key is selectivity:
- Better in late position than early.
- Better in deep-stack situations where implied odds are higher.
- Risky in short-stack play where you don’t have room to maneuver.
