Open-Raise: If you have a high pair, such as A-A or K-K, it is almost always recommended to raise pre-flop. This helps to increase the pot and filter out players with weaker hands, reducing the likelihood of someone hitting an unexpected hand on the flop.
Re-Raise (3-bet): If a player before you has raised, a re-raise is often the correct play with high pairs. The idea is to build the pot and put pressure on the opponents, causing players with marginal or speculative hands to fold.
