How come AJ /AK two high cards usually doesn't run out so nicely against those pocket 9s /8s?
Is it the luck or it's just me

Its math. 88 or 99 is a slight favourite against AK or AJ. Exactly how much depends on the suits, but on average its around 55% / 45%.

Me myself have been in a situation where most of the time AK/AQ/AJ just meets pocket and can't pair the board. On the other hand when I got pocket pair, AK mostly hit an Ace or a King. Just a bit sad, wouldn't you say?

For me, it depends a lot on how you handle betting with those cards. If you play defensive, it's very likely that a pair of 7 will beat you. salutes
