bluffing is tricky for me. How can a beginner practice bluffing without overdoing it?

We shouldn't turn our average-strength hands into bluffs. We should check-call them. They're not strong enough to bet value, but they can win at showdown if we entice our opponent to bet value with a weaker hand or induce them to bluff.

Bluffing is all about hand reading. We improve our bluffing skills by knowing when our V have hands that will fold. We practice by reviewing hands off the table and getting very good at putting V on ranges while understanding our own range as well

Bluffing is good, but not always. The big problem is letting your opponent see your bluff.
There's a right moment for a bluff; over time, you'll be able to spot it. Good luck!

It's a combo of several things, but especially your opponents and their behaviour and the board. Bluffing just for the bluffs on a wet board will not bring you far as the odds of them having the hand you're representing are high and the more you get caught, the more transparent you'll be for the others (which will be good once you actually do have value and nobody expects it from you).

...my tip is based on just one thing, read your opponent to know what style of play he has and his skill level, bluffing for example against players who call everything is not profitable in the long run...

If you are playing at levels appropriate to your skill level as a beginning player& you are attempting bluffs, you are overdoing it. ;)

I use bluffing from time to time, and think improving bluffing skills is not important.

Bluffing is just one tool, don’t force it. Start with semi-bluffs (when you have a draw), and pick good spots, like heads-up pots against players who can actually fold. Avoid bluffing too often, especially in big pots. Practice in small pots first, and over time you’ll get a feel for when it works.

Yes, you’re right — without bluffing you can’t be a successful player. A bluff only works when you’ve actually read your opponent’s hand.

Start with small, simple bluffs in good spots, like continuation bets on dry boards. The key is to practice slowly and not force it every hand.
