What is your favorite position on the table? In my opinion it's the SB or CO, since you're having a good spread with balanced cards and a momentum to surprise the other players on the table. Kinda rockin' more with SB, since your catching the others off-guard with a 30-40% bet

The button, you have position and get to see everybody's action before you have to act yourself.

The button, of course. It gives the player the greatest advantage because they are the last to decide in each betting round, having a full picture of the other players' actions.

Interesting take! Personally, my favorite position is the Cutoff (CO) — it gives me a great mix of flexibility and information. I’m close enough to the button to steal blinds effectively, but still have the advantage of seeing most of the table act before me. It’s also a solid spot to open up ranges and apply pressure on tighter players.

As for the Small Blind (SB), I agree it can be fun to get aggressive from there — especially with a well-timed 3-bet or a squeeze play. But I also find it tricky because you're always out of position postflop, so I tend to play a bit more cautiously unless I have strong reads or a dynamic stack setup.

That said, catching players off-guard with calculated aggression — especially from the SB — can definitely be a great way to chip up when done right.

I think button too. Only problem with button for me tends to be that I am more likely to call small bets with a weaker hand as I am in position and want to see a flop. However being able to punish limpers frequently esepcially in very low stakes games as well as your advantage post flop make up for it imo

Personally, I love playing from the cutoff — tons of flexibility, and you get to apply pressure on the blinds and the button when they’re passive.

Of course, nothing beats the button for value and control! 😄

Do you adjust your SB strategy when the BB is a loose or aggressive player?

If you take any kind of HUD (external or internal, like GG's PokerCraft) you can see what are most profitable positions. With a reasonable sample (lets say 50K+ hands) it would be more or less the same for everyone - you earn money in late positions - BU and CO and loose or relatively loose in blinds.

Of course someone can say their favorite spot is SB, no matter if they earn or loose, but perhaps these data change something ;)

Dealer or in the button position, because this way they can act last in the rounds, having more information about the other players' plays

BTN, because it's the most profitable position in long term due to a very specific reason: it's always IP...

Interesting take! Personally, I’d say Cutoff (CO) is my favorite spot too — you get to steal blinds often, isolate weaker players, and you’ve got position on the Button if they don’t get involved. It’s such a flexible seat for aggressive or tricky plays.

As for Small Blind (SB), I get the thrill you're talking about — that feeling of pushing 30-40% and catching players off-guard can be super satisfying. But it’s still a tough position long-term, since you’re always out of position post-flop. Gotta be sharp with your ranges there!

In short: CO for control and aggression — SB for sneaky ambushes 😄

For me, i prefer SB position in pre-flopp road and BTN in the other roads, becouse its always in position .

I’m all about the CO, you get the steal spots and still act after most of the table, which gives tons of info. SB can be fun for tricky plays, but it’s the toughest spot long term. CO just hits that sweet spot of aggression and control.

The best position at the poker table is considered to be the button. This is because the player on the button has the opportunity to see the actions of all other players before making their decision, which gives them a significant advantage, especially post-flop.
