Poker is such a crazy game. One day you feel like the luckiest person alive, the next day you wonder if the deck has a personal grudge against you 😅. We’ve all been there — the bad beats, the bubbles, the endless nights where every flip seems to go against us. It’s frustrating, it’s painful, and sometimes it makes you want to quit.

But here’s the thing: bad luck doesn’t last forever. Just like the darkest nights eventually give way to sunrise 🌅, downswings are always followed by upswings. The cards don’t remember what happened yesterday. Every hand is a fresh chance, and sooner or later, variance will swing back in your favor.

I’ve had moments where I felt cursed. Losing with pocket aces against some ridiculous hand… busting out on the bubble after hours of grinding… watching opponents hit miracle rivers again and again. It eats at your confidence, makes you question if you’re really cut out for this game. But every time, I remind myself: if I keep making the right decisions, luck will balance out. It has to. That’s how probability works.

And you know what? When the tide finally turns, it feels amazing. That deep run after a losing streak, that triple-up with a dominated hand, that session where everything clicks — it’s like the universe paying you back with interest 💸. Those moments wouldn’t even feel so sweet without the struggles that came before.

So if you’re reading this while stuck in a downswing, please don’t despair. Don’t let a few bad sessions convince you that you’re “unlucky” forever. Poker is a game of skill wrapped in variance. Sometimes variance bites hard, but skill is what keeps you afloat until luck decides to smile on you again.

The important thing is to stay patient, stay disciplined, and keep trusting your game. The math doesn’t lie, and neither does time. If you put in the work and keep showing up, your “unlucky streak” will eventually break.

Remember: luck is not gone, it’s just waiting to return. 🍀 Keep grinding, keep believing — and when fortune finally knocks on your door, you’ll be ready to open it wide. 🚪🔥

Every poker player faces those brutal downswings where nothing seems to work. Strong hands get cracked, flips don’t hold, and the grind feels endless.
But remember: variance is part of the game. Just as the bad streaks come, so do the heaters. What matters most is staying disciplined, keeping your mindset strong, and trusting your decisions.
Poker rewards patience. Don’t give up luck has a way of finding you when you least expect it.

Yes poker can be brutal. I recently had such a bad day going after losing 3 tourneys in a row with AA.

Then I was running deep in a tourney. 4 left all with similar stacks(around 40BB) I look down KhKs.

To my glee UTG,who has me slightly covered, open jams his stack I snap obviously and he also has KK. I'm a little disappointed but relieved that at least I'm splitting. 4 diamonds come on the board and I'm out. I didn't play poker again for 2 days.

It's a pity for a good man
