[QUOTE="ph_il, post: 6999805, member: 508"] i practice a lot of new strategies, but I only do it for my benefit and not to share, because what I do might not make sense to others. Just because it makes sense to me, doesn’t mean its good. is there a part of me that wants to share? of course, but I know I shouldn’t because my casual, fun approach to the game is not the same as others who take it seriously and want to reach high achievements like moving up in stakes or winning big prizes. Funny thing is I know how to do those things, I just dont care to fully apply it. when I answer strategy or mtt questions, I have to make sure I’m not basing my answer on what I would do as a fun player. for the most part now, I just stay away from most of those questions and let better players answer. example of a strategy I use: let’s say I’m on the final table as the shortest stack with 8 bbs. basic strategy is to find a spot to get your stack in and try to double up. my strategy is to just fold every single hand, except qq+, until i bust out. lets say, on an 8 handed table, I can see 50 hands before I bust out, whether I bust out in the 1st or 50th hand, I get paid the same amount in last place. but, if a player busts out before me, I move up the money ladder. so, there is no negative to this. I either leave in the same place I started or I leave with more. funny thing is, not everyone in $1 mtts pays attention, and I use that to my advantage. I’ve gone from 8th to top 3, even winning a number of mtts as well, even though that’s no longer my goal when I play. i even took 2nd with less than half a bb behind after the top stacks got it in pre for ~20 bbs effective. now, will I ever tell anyone to just nit fold constantly at the final table as a short stack? no, because I know it’s not how people want to play and it’s not an acceptable way to play for most players. and I fully understand that.
