I think it depends on your goals. If you're playing just for fun, you can learn a lot on your own — through free videos, articles, and practice. But if you’re aiming to play seriously, a coach can help spot leaks in your game and fast-track your progress. Even the best players had mentors at some point. What do you think — have you ever learned something from another player that changed your game?"

You don't need one. However, the learning process can proceed more quickly.

Absolutely agree with you. I started learning mostly on my own — watching videos, reading articles, grinding low stakes — and that already helped me level up a lot. But there were a few key moments where feedback from other players opened my eyes to leaks I didn’t even know I had.

I think that a coach is a very good option that can save you a lot of time and nerves. But only if you can afford to pay for his services. For me, this is unacceptable, and that's why I learned and am learning on my own, from my own mistakes.

At some point even if you are an auto didact person, you’ll need a coach, they will make you see things that you will not see or barely notice it you learn by your self.

Would I want to hire a poker coach? I don't consider myself a strong player, so yes, I could learn a lot with a poker coach. But only if the coach is a beautiful girl. I think the process of learning would be more comprehensive and productive. :sneaky:

I think when you’re ready to move up to the next level and you have the bankroll for it, it’s a good idea because it helps you understand aspects of the game that you might miss if you only play at lower stakes.

You don’t need a coach to get good at poker, but having one can significantly accelerate your progress. A coach helps identify leaks in your game, explains complex concepts more efficiently than self-study, and keeps you accountable. Many successful players improved through studying on their own using books, videos, and hand reviews. However, coaching offers personalized feedback that’s hard to match otherwise. If you’re serious about improving and can afford it, a good coach can be a game-changer.

I think that at least 50% of poker coaches are scammers who just think about how to make money from you. But obviously, there are real professionals who can really help you. But I think the price for the services of professionals should be very high, taking into account their conditional average income.

Yes, I learned. I take some small chips from this or that poker player, and that way I check what works and what doesn't.
