Sometimes I wait for the national card, hoping for a bluff from the opponent. Risky or smart play?

Waiting for the nuts while hoping your opponent is bluffing can be both smart and risky — it really depends on the situation.
If you have a solid read on your opponent and know they bluff often, it can be a great move.
But if you’re just hoping without much info, it might turn into a costly mistake.
Sometimes folding and waiting for a better spot is the smarter play.

That said, if there’s someone at the table who keeps shoving or raising nonstop))),
then your strategy could work very well against that type of player.

This is the problem about playing out of position when we have the best hand. If we check here we have to have a high probability that our opponent will bet here. If we feel they will not bet then we have to bet, but how much? How much can we bet and get our opponent to call. Playing out of position just stinks.
