Great post from OP, solid advice, and I agree with all except... not playing the MTT part. I would advise playing the MTT rather than cash, but for smaller buy-ins that the OP quoted, for the following reasons:
- MTT are much softer, you will find tough game with regs at NL10 already. And it was even worse when software was allowed all around. Getting deep ITM in micro MTTs is much easier.
- One bad beat wipes out most or all your hard earned winnings, imagine the time lost.
- MTTs suggest free or very cheap tourneys and qualifiers to tourneys with significant prize pools.
- A few bucks can give you 20-100 buy-ins. Plenty of distance to score if you got at least some skill.
- [I]Tinfoil hat alert[/I]: you are much less likely to encounter room bots.

Sidenote, I also used NL2 to NL10 for building BR from scratch too, mixing it up etc. It is all situational. But I'd stick to the MTT way as a general strategy.

P.S. Got from 0 to a 100 in a couple weeks just recently this way.
