Yesterday I had my best finish in a freeroll 7th of 997.
Got paid a whopping $15!!!

good fun though. What I did was for the first 2 hours I simply went all in on premium hands regardless of any other conditions, it's very simple and dumb and 1 bad beat and I am out, but it worked. I was just tired of trying to play things 'properly' it was quite liberating as I was folding 90% of hands I could play GTA at the same time :)

When we got down to the last 100 seats I got interested and was very unlucky several times with some good hands, probably because I hadn't paid enough attention to who played what and how. Nevertheless for a total beginner it's one way you can get into the money with luck, afterall luck is what freerolls are mostly about.

Congrats on the payout, I play many different styles when I play freerolls , from super donk to super tight, use them like a training ground.

Thanks.
I'm doing the same right now, i'm in 45th place
with 210 left/1200 but I have changed to playing high pairs
as well. What I never realised before was how many people bluff!
In these games it seems every other hand I win is catching out a bluffer.

I think you'll find the percentage of bluffs gets higher as the tourney goes on as the blinds and antes become an inducement to do so. It takes a lot of courage, but pushing back all-in will usually uncover the bluff.
