Your First Casino Experience—How Did It Feel? 🎰

My first time in a casino was at City of Dreams, sometime around 2019, maybe just before the pandemic. I was waiting for a small buy-in pokerstars tournament to begin, so while waiting, I tried one of the slot machines. I exchanged about ₱300 at the cashier for tokens. After a few taps, my ₱300 was almost gone—then suddenly, I hit something that replenished my buy-in.

Even so, I felt uneasy losing money in a game like slots where I had no control. So I stood up, went back to the cashier, and cashed out my original ₱300. From that day on, I never sat in front of a slot machine again.

It’s been a long while since I last stepped into a casino. The last time I remember was when I joined a ₱100 buy-in PokerStars tournament at Okada last year.

I haven't been at a casino yet to play live . This is sth I would love to do in the future . Play poker or slots . Although I am sure that I will lose all the money I LL take with me , at least the first time .

The first time I went to a casino was for my friend's birthday. We were drunk and went there just to mindlessly spend money. Of course, I enjoyed it, but the next morning my pockets were empty. I spent everything I had and helped him spend what he had.

A few months later, he called saying that he was on a trip, very close to where I lived and wanted to visit. Sure enough, he came and spent the night. The following day, he asked me to go to a casino with him. As I've never been to one, and always been curious about it, 2 hours later we were at Bally's in Atlantic city.

Another 2 hours later, he had lost $2K and $600 that I had on me, all at a blackjack table, I had no idea about the game then (1999). Thankfully, I had plenty of gas in the tank and we made it back home, hungry, pissed off and in an awkward situation.

He stayed another 2 days, and I finally had to lend him $400 to buy a ticket and go home.
Never heard from him again!!

That was my brilliant casino "initiation" .

That's a very expensive 💸 experience, Sami. Do you still entertain strangers, let them spend the night and lend them money for casino knowing they will never pay you back?

So I was there, my first time playing live poker, it's was unbelievable, the feeling, adrenaline rush. Ended up winning first place even though I played drunk because they gave us countless shots as a good bye (appreciation) thing

I had the same experience with free drinks when playing cash games, even at the minimum limits. But yeah... I ended up drunk and losing in the end. Hahaha 🍻😂♠️

I also love playing small tournaments online (MTT) but playing live was something else, sometimes you need to step out of your comfort zone and give yourself the chance and room to experience things in general.

It's a one-off experience I gave myself after losing at a PokerStars tournament 🍻 (I just recalled this was around 2016-2017 when PokerStars was hosted by City of Dreams in Manila. They've move to Okada Manila around 2018).

it was all kinds of fun every where i went all i had to do was show my card and have the buy in and i was good to go.

I have been to a casino with friends several times and I must say that it did not particularly impress me. I did not play myself, because for me it is a matter of principle not to spend money on such things. But my friends played, and they lost their money in about 3-4 hours. In my opinion, playing in a casino is quite pointless, and I am surprised that people are willing to pay for it.

Good for us. I’m never really comfortable bringing cash (unless it's for a PokerStars tournament buy-in) into a casino and sitting at the slots, roulette, baccarat, or blackjack tables—except for that one time I shared here when I tried the slots. 🎰😅🍀

My first casino visit was quite some time ago in Vancouver at the River Rock Casino. Was there helping my son find a place. The Casino was near our hotel so we went for an evening. I remember it was hopping! Played some poker but no casino games or slots.

The only reason I remember the name is they gave me this cool poker chip key ring which I (obviously) still have.

Well as you can see by the look of the card it's been in & out of my wallet so many times it's pretty much wore out and no i never turned pro don't have the right stuff or the money .

I was 14 and I went on a vacation with my family in the Bahamas they had slots everywhere and I mean everywhere.my aunt was playing, and she gave me some tokens, and I was playing for fun that was about 1992 kids were running around in the casino.

I don't know for sure for live casino . But online it is true it is hard to win . At least I find it difficult . You need to have a big bankroll , ready to lose it all , they try to make you play more and more aggressively by betting more and more , the only way to let you win . At least that's my experience with online casinos . I never had an easy win , like betting some cents , very little money and win very big

I lived about 6 blocks from a casino, and it was like the wild wild west. The neat part was they usually comped us steak dinners - so we would get a group together and play and afterwords we would enjoy a nice steak dinner. Eventually the Indian casinos pushed all the small operators out of business.

It was some random slot game where after some tries I won free bonus game and I didn't even know how to play that bonus game, so I started randomly press buttons and at the end I won some small amount of money and cashed out immediately. After that try I haven't played any slot game
