Sometimes I feel poker isn’t just about cards and chips – it’s a quiet test of who we really are. Sitting at the table for hours, you’re forced to face more than just opponents. You meet your impatience, your hunger for easy wins, your fear of losing a stack. Every hand teaches patience, discipline, and the art of letting go. Make a mistake? Learn, move on, and clear your mind before the next deal – there’s no room for regret when the cards keep coming.

What do you think? Does poker build character, or does it simply reveal the traits we already carry inside?

A little of both IMHO.
From a logical person's point of view I believe one's character is enhanced by the lessons of poker - Very well said! ;)

 The only thing I might add would be looking at the game from the perspective of the maniac gambleholic.
They are easy to spot - as they are mostly "Characters" already. :poop:

While there are a few old dogs that can learn new tricks - :coffee:
These characters would need to Pokers Anonymous to change what they carry inside.

Good Luck, Gary. :geek:

Poker is often like a mirror of character. At the table, patience, discipline, and emotional control are constantly tested. The way someone reacts to pressure, handles risk, or deals with both victory and defeat can reveal a lot about their true nature. For me, poker has not only been a game of cards, but also a way to learn more about myself and strengthen qualities such as resilience, focus, and humility.

I think poker is both a test and a reveal of character...., it attracts very competitive people, sometimes addictive people,

it's a frustrating game that can bring out the worst in some people, I do think people who are easily frustrated, or have

big egos, or are conspiracy prone are probably least likely to enjoy or learn anything from poker👍
