Have you tried to quit poker but came back? Or quit for good? I'm currently trying to quit due to constant bad beats

[QUOTE="Pokerpoet2, post: 6908066, member: 430261"] Playing serious poker I walked away from it about 3 years ago, not because I was losing money, But I didn't have the urge to play, Before the lockdowns started I was playing a weekly tournament every week at my Local Pub, In fact I ran the game at the Pub, I did it as a Favour for the Landlord and I got Free beer for my trouble. Unfortunately the Landlord moved on, My free beer stopped with the new Manager, and I felt I was being used so quit running the games, I still played almost every week but felt I had no incentive to run the games any more. When Covid struck it closed all the Pubs etc , so I came back to On-line Poker as a substitute, but challenging myself to double my Bankroll, I was playing for hours everyday, and I managed to treble it. To be honest at my age, being retired and not needing the money, I had nothing better to do. I just suddenly decided I didn't enjoy it anymore, Playing for hours trying to achieve something that I actually surpassed, I just lost the magic I had for the game, Playing On-line gave me the confidence to play Live games and that I enjoyed but going back to on-line Poker, it just lost it's appeal. I gave up going out because of the lockdowns, found I could buy cheaper beer from the supermarkets so there was nothing drawing myself back to my old ways. I miss my weekly Pub games, but certainly not enough to make the effort of getting showered and dressed, then Taxis to and from the Pub, when I can drink, What I want, When I want, and pay a fraction for it, sitting at home. Sad but that is the way I feel now, Going out to the Pub has lost it's appeal, along with playing Poker, Will I ever get that appeal back? I seriously doubt it. When the Fun Stops, STOP! I have!
