Then the other day I'm playing with this donk who is very lucky and that's what I don't get is how people get lucky against me all the time but I'm rarely ever the one getting lucky when I'm behind. Anyway I have King Queen the flop is Queen Jack 3. I check for action the guy bets again 1500 I re-raise all in. He calls me with King 3, so the King is dead to him the only thing he can hit is a 3. Turn doesn't change anything, river is a 3. It's like is this guy psychic or something? And these things are happening to me so much it's like people are picking up on it because they can just hit whatever magical card they need to beat me by the river. Another ridiculous hand we're down to 4 of us 3 get paid I got pocket Kings I'm all in preflop. I get called with Queen 9. Flop is a King giving me a set Jack and something else, turn some card that changes nothing and river is a 10 giving him a straight. I make the money if not for that river. Another hand I get Ace King raise get called flop is King 9 something, I bet opponent goes all in with 10 9, river is a 10. That was another time I would have made the money if not for that river card. Also at the $1/$2 cash game last Friday (a week ago) I have Ace Jack of diamonds. This was not a bad beat but I bet $18 someone goes all in for $138 over that. There was a third person with less than that I sat there for a long time and decided to fold. It seemed to be the right decision at the time the one who bet $138 turned over Ace Queen and the one who had less had pocket 6s. So I would have been calling a lot of money with the third best hand but of course 3 diamonds come out I would have hit the flush. It's like the bad luck just won't stop. I have more I could mention even. It gets to the point that I just decided to give up. What is the point of playing? I'm ahead and opponent just hits their two outer or whatever, just dumb luck but it happens repeatedly. I'm sitting at home instead of playing cash right now just fed up. Usually I get it in good and I'm ahead when my chips are in the middle, but if I happen to be behind I just lose while my opponents can have like a 4% chance of winning the hand after the flop yet get their magic card on the river. I like poker but just constantly dealing with the bad beats gets old especially when it's not evening out for me at all. What's weird is this happens almost on repeat I play for a couple of months when I first go back I'm usually almost unstoppable win practically every night but after about 3 weeks to a month the bad beats start I quit I go back after a couple of months and I'm winning again until the bad beats start. I thought the cards were random how do these patterns keep happening to me? I need a poker therapist. I know obvious you could say "that's just poker" but it's not. I play with a lot of the same people and they're not dealing with these bad beats like I am. I see favorites mostly winning when it's other peoples hands but not mine. [/QUOTE]
