Never had to lie about Poker, or anything for that matter, I once stayed in a Hotel for 2 nights just to play in 2 separate Poker Tournaments. I was also invited to visit Amsterdam on a 3 night bender (stag party) and at first wasn't too eager to go as I knew all the lads would do is get high on Weed and visit the red light district, My Wife actually convinced me to go if only to watch the Lads and make sure they didn't get into trouble.
We were only there one hour when one of the lads did too much weed and flaked out on the sidewalk, and for the next two nights we just ambled around the Red light District doing a bit of Window Shopping (looking but not buying)
On the 3rd night I had had enough and just stayed at the Hotel bar all night while the lads did another Tour of the Red Light District. No one was going to get up to any mischief, I suppose they were too worried about their Wives and Girlfriends finding out.
