As a microstakes player, I understand there is no shot I am good enough to be thinking about whether I have enough of an edge in NLHE. I just need to focus on learning the game. However, once I have a better understanding of poker fundamentals, I do wonder whether I might be better served branching out. Heads up Texas Hold'em literally has been solved. Other games hardly have the same level of analysis and software. But, they also don't have the same number of players. It's a tough decision. I consider PLO, PLO8, STUD, RAZZ, and 2-7. For some reason, in America, it's mostly NLH and PLO online. A few O8 games, and a sprinkling of Stud online too, but not so much at my level

Hopefully I get a bigger bankroll and can study other games that I can actually play. What do you think of other variants of poker??

Who solved HU NL?

I do think the other variants can offer valuable lessons that you can apply to NL:

PLO really shows you the importance of position.

PLO 8 drives home equity awareness.

Stud helps with understanding blockers and the perils of playing out of position.

Razz can help drive home things like fold equity.

2-7 can be great at teaching the importance of hand selection.

Badugi is great at teaching the power of aggression.

I just looked up the HU and saw it was actually LHE. My bad on that.

I think poker is far more than just one game and yes you can learn many things from other variants.....,

also it's just more fun to mix it up, Cardschat has variants on Fridays in the silver league with Omaha hilo, Omaha, Stud hilo...

and Omaha and Omaha hilo games Sundays in the platinum league, there's also a 6max nlhe game on Mondays in the platinum league,

hope you check them out sometime👍
