This is actually a pretty good strategy- doubling the stake on a bet until a win and make a small profit- and I kinda like the idea with red/black, odd/even, or high/low bets... but in general I like to avoid playing roulette as it's quite a complex casino game and so many times you see people lose their mind and their bankroll here...
So, if you want to have a bit of fun and maybe try to get back some losses from somewhere else- betting on even money wagers is not a bad idea/ strategy but try to be consistent and also use win/ loss limits so that your session doesn't go 'crazy'...

There is actually a named strategy behind this. It is called the Martingale strategy.
But the effective strategy is to say "Hey, look at that dead bird in the sky", and once everybody turns you grab the ball and land it where you want it

It's ok I guess, still zero damages such strategy. I think it's better to avoid roulette. Rarely I bet simultaneously for red and black or even and odd to complete 888poker tasks. I see is very common to think that the "double the bet" strategy is profitable. I even tried that with play money.
There are some complications here:
-The 0 doesn't count like red/black, even/odd. That turns the profit in favor of the casino in long term.
-The bet increase exponentially, so you could ending betting thousands and thousands of dollars, just to get your money back, for a very small profit considering the time invested.
-The chances of getting, lets say a black number, doesn't increase with each red number, it's always 50/50.
The max that I've seen it was 8 times in a row the same colour.
Let's say I start with $1, then $2, $4, $8, $16, $32, $64, $128, $256.
Total invested: $511.
Won: $512.
Net winnings: $1.

- 1st / 2nd / 3rd 12 a little bit less than 33%
and so on
Every single spot you put a chip on will have a loss if played infinitely.
So with every additional chip you place anywhere on the board, regardless of whatever combination it is in, you will lose a little bit more eventually.

It's not a bad strategy actually if you're only aiming to get your money back and maybe a little more because the other color will show up sooner or later.
But Roulette business is really dangerous altogether and better be avoided.
